This week tennis superstar Venus Williams served up both winners and controversy during her early-round matches on the red clay at Roland Garros, site of the 2010 French Open Championships.  Bolstered by her number 2 world-ranking, her 20 Grand Slam titles, her exceptional tennis skills and a sassy tennis dress, she’s been a smashing success!

As a result of Venus’ sexy-flirty outfit, there were plenty of ooh-la-la moments during her early round matches that were played on Court Suzanne Lenglen and Court Philippe Chatrier.  Every time she served, hit a forehand winner or smashed an overhead shot; her lacy see-through petticoat styled dress flew up to reveal her buxom bottom, clad in a pair of flesh-toned boyshorts.

In his article entitled: “Venus Fashions Controversy With Style” by Greg Couch, the national columnist for FanHouse and former sports columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times wrote,

“What you have to decide about Venus Williams’ dress is whether it is fashion art or pornography.  Is she trying to appear nude or just naked?”

Mademoiselle Williams has successfully played her way into the round of 16 and when asked about her sassy, see-through corset-themed dress following her 1st, 2nd and 3rd round victories, she’s said…

“It’s really all about the illusion, What’s the point of wearing lace when there’s just black under?”

“Lace has never been done before in tennis, and I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time.  The illusion of just having bare skin is definitely for me a lot more beautiful.”

Here’s an interesting fact:  In the past, players have been fined for their outfits at other Grand Slam events.  Given all the hoopla, the Roland Garros organizers chose a photo of Venus wearing the racy-lacy dress, for the cover of Wednesday’s program booklet.

As the 2010 Miss USA winner is set to be crowned this weekend, pageant officials have been doing double time on the morning and evening talk shows in defense of racy photos showcasing 2010 contestants posed in sexy lingerie.  In an effort to spice things up, pageant officials commissioned photographer Fadil Berisha, to shoot the beauty queens in a Playboy-themed promo entitled “Waking Up In Vegas”.

The risqué photos feature beauty queens provocatively posing on rumpled bedding in an alluring array of sexy panties, boy shorts, push-up bras, corsets, and sexy thigh-high stockings.  Of course, we all remember the controversy that erupted last year when sexy lingerie photos surfaced of Carrie Prejean (the original winner of the Miss California pageant) ended up costing her the crown.

Emmy-nominated star and co-producer of the reality television series The Apprentice, Miss USA franchise owner Donald Trump is not concerned by the controversy and has decided not to utter his infamous “You’re Fired” statement.

Tim Winter from the Parents Television Council explained, “There has been a growing debate over the line between a beauty pageant and soft-core pornography…and I think this year’s pageant not only erases that line, it obliterates it.”

Mr. Trump’s response, “We are in a different age.  They are a little bit sexy but I’ll tell you what – everybody’s watching, so I have no problems with it.”

Miss USA 2010 will be broadcast live on NBC at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday May 16th from the Theatre for the Performing Arts within Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.  This year’s co-hosts are Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone and Today show correspondent Natalie Morales.  Color commentary will be provided by the former Celebrity Apprentice mother-daughter duo, Joan and Melissa Rivers. The Pop-rock group Boys Like Girls will perform during the swimsuit competition and country music star Trace Adkins will perform during the evening gown competition.  The winner will represent the United States in the Miss Universe 2010 competition.

The world has gone gaga for Lady Gaga, who at age 24 has become the hottest performer of her generation.  With only two albums under her belt, TIME magazine declared Lady Gaga one of The World’s Most Influential People in 2010.

The TIME magazine photo seen above presents an image of a white hot Gaga donning an electrically-charged bustier.  Dressed in a Giorgio Armani designed, lingerie-themed bodysuit produced from embroidered chantilly lace and crystal, with jet beading and topped off by a silk organza cape, she and her half-naked dancers rocked the American Idol stage last night with another sultry mash-up of “Alejandro” and “Bad Romance.”

Grammy Award–winning pop singer Cyndi Lauper’s essay on Lady Gaga in TIME magazine shared the following thoughts on this avant-garde performer…

“I first heard the name Lady Gaga through a mutual friend. He couldn’t stop talking about her.  Then I heard her music, and I thought, Wow, I love this kid.

“An artist’s job is to take a snapshot — be it through words or sound, lyrics or song — that explains what it’s like to be alive at that time”.

“When ‘Bad Romance’ starts, the music grabs your ear immediately. Then she opens with the line ‘I want your ugly/ I want your disease,’ and all of a sudden you’re listening”.

This week, FOX TV’s breakout musical comedy-drama hit series Glee scored big with a Madonna- themed episode aptly titled “The Power of Madonna.” 13.5 million Gleeksters tuned in to watch the Madonna-fest presented by the ensemble cast.   The episode focused on the fallout of the ongoing bullying and sexual pressure to do it.  Clever plot twists showcased the musical talents of the Glee guys and girls as they wrestled with the questions posed by the Madonna hit “What it Feels Like for a Girl.”

All in all it was an empowering song and dance episode that featured some of Madonna’s sexiest hits including…. “Express Yourself,” “Like a Virgin,” “Justify My Love,” “Ray of Light,” “Like a Prayer” and a sweet mash-up version of her hits “Borderline” and “Open Your Heart.”

The plot involved sexually charged threesomes between Will/Emma/Sue and Finn/Rachel/Jessie, along with Kurt and Mercedes bold move to reinvent Sue for their video version of Madonna’s “Vogue.”  Watch as the Glee version captures the visually provocative sexy style of the original including the barely-there fashions, the bustier shot and the corseted woman.

This week singer/songwriter Alicia Keys announced that the release of her “Put It in a Love Song” music video with Beyoncé is being postponed until this summer.  Alicia first wants to promote the release her “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” video collaboration with Drake, the talented Canadian singer/rapper.  Alicia and Beyoncé donned sexy Samba costumes during the filming of the music video.

“Put It in a Love Song” is Alicia’s third single off her latest album, Element of Freedom.  The highly anticipated music video extravaganza was shot in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last February and will feature the expected Beyoncé video dramatics… as the Grammy Award-winning duo sing and dance to a carnival-themed celebration.

This week, the Puerto Rican born Latin/Pop singer-songwriter and actor known for shaking his bon bons on stage made it official by declaring his homosexuality in a poignant and reflective letter that he posted on RickyMartinMusic.com.  A seasoned stage performer from the age of 13, first as a member of the Latin boy band Menudo, this sexy Latin heartthrob achieved super-stardom with a triumphant performance of “La Copa De La Vida” (The Cup of Life) at the 41st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.  A few weeks later his music video “Livin’ La Vida Loca” was released on MTV to world-wide success.  In 2000 and 2006 People magazine and its sister magazine People en Español named him one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.

Ricky revealed in his letter… “These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed.

What will happen from now on? It doesn’t matter. I can only focus on what’s happening to me in this moment. The word “happiness” takes on a new meaning for me as of today. The tenth-season premiere of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars aired on Monday night with an exciting dance-off between the 11 celebrities and their professional dance partners.  Couples performed an elegant Viennese Waltz or a sexy Cha Cha and will return next Monday to perform a second dance routine before the first elimination occurs.  Monday night’s scores will be added to a second dance to be performed next week and the viewer votes to determine which couple goes home first.  The ratings were off the charts as more than 20 million viewers tuned in to see the dancing debut of astronaut Buzz Aldrin the original moon walker, Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson, Reality TV star Kate Gosselin, 90s TV star bad-girl Shannen Doherty and Evan Lysacek the 2010 Olympic figure skating champion.

Some performances fizzled while others sizzled and when it was over the judges gave the highest score of 25 (out of a possible 30) to the Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger and her professional dance partner Derek Hough for their breathtaking Viennese Waltz.  Evan Lysacek and his professional dance partner Anna Trebunskaya are close behind in second with a score of 23 and floundering in last place with 14 is our favorite moon man Buzz Aldrin and his professional dance partner Ashley Costa.

The Cha Cha is up next for Nicole, the sexy Honolulu-born hottie and her sexy partner Derek who is famous for his spicy and sometimes shirtless Latin dance routines in previous seasons.  While there isn’t going to be much in the way of full-figured bustiers, revealing lingerie ensembles, come-hither camisoles or seductive panties and thongs to talk about, we look forward to next week’s show and all the racy, alluring and barley-there fashions yet to come!
